JUGENDJAZZORCHESTER.CH
The JUGENDJAZZORCHESTER.CH was founded in 2015. In addition to the existing offers in the area of orchestral and chamber music, a continuous funding platform for jazz was also created at national level, which enables the "large ensemble" experience. The JJO offers talented young Swiss musicians (16-25 years) the opportunity to develop a program specially written for the ensemble over a period of several months and then to perform it as part of a tour throughout Switzerland.
Participation goes far beyond interpreting pieces, active participation is required. The orchestra members are already involved in the planning of the program (themes, focus) and collectively shape the end product with their ideas and their individual strengths: A full-length concert program with the voice of youth. In just a few years, the JJO has developed into a very dynamic ensemble that grabs the jazz of the 21st century by the forelock: collective performance trumps individual virtuosity, genre boundaries fade, electronic sounds are part of it, the beats are inspired in many ways.
