Lausanne Precollege
Conservatoire de musique Neuchâtelois(CMNE)
The Pre-College Music CH program at the Neuchâtel Music Conservatory (CMNE) offers a pre-professional track of excellence, preparing students for admission exams to Higher Music Schools through rigorous and creative training.
The program emphasizes cross-genre exploration and openness to other art forms. Students from the three curriculums (jazz, classical music, and musicals) interact through cross-disciplinary courses and an annual study trip, fostering enriching exchanges.
The Jazz curriculum includes two individual lessons, participation in workshops (jazz, improvisation, contemporary music and world music), and participation to a Big Band ensemble (BEC) as well as several jazz theory classes each week.
A qualified and passionate faculty provides an ideal learning environment, within modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment. Founded in 1917, the CMNE is the leading music institution in the Canton and the only one benefiting from public funding, with 1,800 students, over 110 teachers, and classes offered across 17 sites, accessible to all ages and levels, including people with disabilities.
The CMNE Pre-College Jazz course takes place at the CMNE's two main locations: Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds.
