Friborg Conservatory COF, Jazz Department
The Conservatory (music, dance and theatre), a cultural institution of the State of Fribourg, has been offering jazz and contemporary music training since 1979.
The pre-professional jazz course at the Fribourg Conservatory was created in 2010.
Backed by a jazz and contemporary music section with some 400 students on two sites (Fribourg and Bulle), integrating a school of music and performing arts with around 4,000 students and alongside the activities of the Fribourg site of the HEMU present on the same campus, the pre-professional course offers young Fribourg talent a stimulating environment, conducive to their artistic development.
Based on a four-year course of study, the programme prepares talented young people from the region for the demands of the profession right up to the doors of Swiss or foreign universities. Individual courses, workshops, master classes, modular courses and jams make up the training programme offered in Fribourg.
The partnership with the jazz club La Spirale gives students in the pre-professional stream the opportunity to easily access a very rich cultural offer and a stage that welcomes them with open arms!
