Within various ensembles, including the HEMU Jazz Orchestra, and alongside their teachers or guest soloists, such as Richard Galliano, Nik Bärtsch or Nguyên Lê, the students perform live in front of a large audience. More than 150 concerts are organised each year, in collaboration with a vast network of partners in Switzerland - Montreux Jazz Festival, Cully Jazz Festival, Festival Jazz Onze+ Lausanne, Nova Jazz Festival, Festival du Périgord Noir, RTS-Espace 2, Chorus Jazz Club, Concerts de Lancy/Cave Marignac, Esprit Sainf - and many Swiss and international universities.

Our international epic of professeur.es accompanies young musicians in their artistic development. Numerous masterclasses, given by references from the jazz scene - such as Wynton Marsalis, Mark Guiliana, Julian Lage - enrich our demanding training courses. The HEMU encourages stylistic diversity and positions itself as a forerunner in the jazz teaching of certain instruments such as the vibraphone or the accordion. Modern premises and state-of-the-art class and rehearsal studios are at the disposal of its students. Gathered in the heart of Le Flon, its jazz and contemporary music departments offer a campus atmosphere conducive to individual and collective creation.
